Bryce Canyon National Park

Current trail closures: The back country Agua Canyon Connector Trail due to severe trail damage from a slide.

Canyonlands National Park
The White Rim Road is impassible at upheaval wash due to flooding. There is imminent danger on the road north of the Labyrinth campsite. This is a dangerous time to be traveling on this section of the road; adjust your backcountry plan accordingly.

Great Smoky Mountains National Park
Trillium Gap Trail Closed/ No access to Grotto Falls through July 11, afterward closed Monday - Thursday (excluding federal holidays) July 12 - November 15, 2019.

Joshua Tree National Park
The Black Eagle Mine Road is closed. All paved roads are open.

Olympic National Park
Closures for mountain goat capture activities 05-July-2019 - 20-Jul-2019. This closure includes Hurricane Hill, Little River, and Wolf Creek Trails; Klahhane Ridge area closed temporarily 7/8-9; Seven Lakes Basin area now open.
The Elwha area is closed to vehicles beyond Madison Falls parking lot due to washout. Open to bicycle/pedestrian traffic beyond Madison Falls parking lot. Parking and turnaround space are limited. No visitor facilities beyond the gate at the parking lot. A bypass trail provides access around the flood damage. Pets are permitted on leash.
The Hurricane Ridge Road will be closed to motor vehicles from 6am - 12 noon on Sunday, August 4th for the 'Ride the Hurricane' bicycling event.

Zion National Park
The Upper Emerald Pools Trail, Hidden Canyon, and Observation Point (from Weeping Rock) are closed due to rockfall and storm damage. The Kayenta trail is closed after 0.8 miles.

Wer das nächste Festival an einer Location der etwas anderen Art feiern möchte, ist beim Underwater Music Festival an den Florida Keys goldrichtig. Hier treffen sich jedes Jahr tausende Taucher und Schnorchler, um in den ausgefallensten Kostümen – von Sänger über Entertainer bis Meerjungfrau – abzutauchen und das Riff zu rocken. Ein lokaler Radiosender lässt auf Unterwasser-Lautsprechern eine Playlist mit Titeln wie „Yellow Submarine“ oder „Octopus Garden“ ablaufen, während die Meeres-Musiker ihre skurrilen Instrumente spielen. Auch das Publikum an Land kann die Unterwasser-Melodien hören. Da der Schall im Wasser aber 4,3-mal schneller ist als in der Luft, erleben Zuhörer ein ganz besonderes Klangerlebnis. Das Looe Key Reef ist Teil des einzig lebenden Korallenriffs in den Vereinigten Staaten, welches nach dem Great Barrier Reef und dem Belize Barrier Reef das drittgrößte der Welt ist. Ins Leben gerufen wurde das Festival, um das Bewusstsein für den Schutz des sensiblen Ökosystems der Riffe zu schärfen. Eine Postkarte mit speziellem Wow-Moment!
